turbopuffer

turbopuffer is a hosted search database for vector and full text search that keeps data on object storage (such as S3) with a memory and SSD cache in front, instead of holding every index in RAM. The design trades a slower first query on cold data for much lower storage cost, which fits large, mostly idle datasets such as per user or per workspace namespaces.

Pricing, per turbopuffer.com/pricing on October 21, 2026: usage based with a minimum of $16 a month on Launch, $256 a month on Scale (adds SSO, HIPAA ready BAA and audit logs) and from $4,096 a month on Enterprise (adds single tenancy, BYOC and an uptime SLA). There is no self hosted open source edition. Alternatives with open source engines include Qdrant, Weaviate, LanceDB and pgvector.
